PingMee on Android
Available now on the Google Play Store.

What you get
PingMee is a location-based social app for meeting people near you in real time. Set a status saying what you are up to, see other people nearby who are open to the same thing, and send them a ping. If they ping you back you have matched, and a private chat opens for the two of you. Friendship, dating and professional networking are all supported, and you pick which ones you are open to.
The Android app is the full app — there is no cut-down version. It is completely free, with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.
Installing on Android
- Tap the Google Play badge above, or search "PingMee" in the Play Store.
- Install the app and open it.
- Create an account with your email address.
- Allow location access when asked. PingMee needs it to show you who is nearby — without it there is nothing to discover.
- Set your first status and start pinging.
Permissions and privacy
PingMee asks for location, and for notifications so you know when someone pings you back. Your exact position is never shared with anyone — other users see an approximate distance such as "2 miles away", never coordinates. You can hide yourself from searches at any time in Settings under Safety & Privacy, and block or report anyone from their profile or a conversation.
Messages are protected with TLS in transit and encrypted at rest. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is collected and what you can ask us to delete.
Having trouble?
If the app will not install, check that your device is running a current version of Android and that you have space free. If it installs but nothing appears nearby, widen your search radius and confirm "Appear in Searches" is switched on in Settings.
Still stuck? The FAQs cover matching, messaging and notifications in detail, or you can report a bug and we will take a look.
