Meet people near me
Meet people near you, right now
Most apps for meeting people are built around profiles you swipe through and conversations that drift on for days. PingMee is built around now: who's nearby, and what are they up for today?
You post a status, see the people around you, and send a ping. If they ping back, a private chat opens. It's for new friends, relationships or networking. You choose what you're open to.
How it works
There are three steps, and none of them involve filling in a long questionnaire.
- Post a status: 'Coffee near the station?', 'Need a tennis partner this weekend'
- See people nearby, within a distance you choose
- Send a ping. If they ping back, you've matched and a private chat opens
Privacy comes first
Meeting people near you only works if you feel safe doing it. PingMee never shows anyone your exact location: only an approximate distance. Nothing private opens up until you both accept each other, and you can block or report anyone at any time.
Before you meet anyone for the first time, read our safety checklist for meeting someone from an app.
Not a dating app
PingMee isn't only about dating. Plenty of people use it to find a running partner, someone to explore a new area with, or other people in their industry nearby. If a relationship is what you want, you can say so too. Everyone chooses what they're open to, and sees people looking for the same.

Questions
How close are the people I see?
You choose the distance. Keep it to your neighbourhood or widen it to the whole city. You'll only ever see an approximate distance, not an exact location.
What's a ping?
A quick hello that says you'd like to connect. If the other person pings you back, a private chat opens for the two of you.
Can I stop someone contacting me?
Yes. You can block or report anyone from inside the app, and nothing private opens until you both accept each other in the first place.
Is PingMee free?
Yes, PingMee is free on iPhone and Android.
